Care and services

Tender, Love and Care

Taking good care of yourself also means taking good care of your jewellery. Tender, Love and Care is about attention and handling what you wear with care. My jewellery is made to a high standard, but due to its refinement it can also be delicate. With proper care, it will remain beautiful and wearable for many years.

Here you will find practical tips for caring for your jewellery. I also provide tools to help determine the correct size, for example if you cannot visit in person or want to surprise someone.

How to care for your jewellery

Many gemstones can withstand everyday influences, but not all of them. Always check whether your gemstone is suitable for contact with water or cleaning products.

If your jewellery becomes dirty, clean it gently. Use a cup of warm water with a very small splash of ammonia (only if appropriate) and a drop of mild dish soap. Let the piece soak for a few minutes, then gently brush it with an old, soft toothbrush. Rinse with lukewarm water and dry with a soft cloth.

Annual check-up

For jewellery set with larger gemstones, it is advisable to have the stone checked annually to ensure it is still secure and that the setting has not worn down. Please make an appointment in advance. I will carefully inspect the piece and, if necessary, reset the stone. This helps keep your jewellery safe to wear and in good condition.

Gemstones requiring extra care

These gemstones always require special attention. Please ask about the best way to care for them:

Pearl – Beryl (emerald, aquamarine) – Amber
Turquoise – Opal – Feldspar (moonstone, labradorite)
Pyrite – Peridot – Zircon
